Solid Start Background
Launched in 2015, the Solid Start Initiative at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center is a multi-disciplinary collaboration aimed at improving the health and well-being of women, infants, children and their families through evidence-based practice and systemic change. The initiative is supported by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and through generous philanthropic support from individual donors and foundations.
Since its inception, Solid Start has sought to secure better outcomes for pregnant individuals with children age 0 to 3 and their families through internal and external efforts that lead to concrete services with immediate outcomes, such as access to equity-based health care.
